Before I came across its correct identity in a local newspaper in June 2015, I had named this plant as Artemisia scoparia (Redstem Wormwood). Mixing up the two plants could be dangerous. While Artemisia scoparia might contain compounds that protect the liver [1], Eupatorium capillifolium contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids that might cause liver damage when consumed in large quantity for prolong period.
